Taking It To The Streets

[wordofmouth]

Word-of-mouth advertising is a highly-valued concept to product and service marketers as it is traditionally the best and flexible promotional strategy. The “common folk” on the planet are more likely to be moved by word-of-mouth than by more formalized selling systems.

Put simply, if you can get folks talking about your service, product or message in a particularly positive way, you can bypass lots of other selling strategies – and their similar expenses.

The reason is very simple…  Word-of-mouth communication has a tendency to make folks believe that what they are hearing is truthful without any deceptive motives.

Honesty is understood and the receivers of messages are moved to perform the intended action call at seriously increased rates. This is true because there’s no “what’s in it for me” reward for the person that is speaking positively to you about the product, service or message handy – it’s just a friend telling you, “Hey this is great!”

And, it goes without saying, that all selling endeavors should center around attempting to get your audience to make that purchase, right?

Word of mouth also includes the task of getting key people in place to create that excitement for a larger number of  people. When you get these key figures speaking, everyone wants to leap on the band wagon with them. In my profession, these key people are called “brand ambassadors.”

Whatever it is you are doing currently, keep in mind that word-of-mouth advertising is a more naturally-occurring phenomenon. Services and products presented in this natural format tend to be overwhelmingly received, and thus become extraordinarily favored and desired.

Brick & mortar businesses, like Street Sampling Inc., literally take to the streets to interact with others. For those of you using the internet, realize that word-of-mouth advertising can bring your business to a completely new level of potency and strength.

And, keep in mind that each of your major competitors are using this strategy to their full benefit.

I truely believe in mord of mouth! I have always thought that its the best way to advertise thats including good and bad advertising. I would more likely go to a new resturant if a friend of mine boasts how good it is, then if they paid for a million dollar advert. Although oppions differ and certain things may happen to influence each person, I take that into account.

Word of mouth works in reverse too. People always tell more people about bad experiences than good!

I know that if I hear of someone’s personal experience with a product then I’m more likely to buy it.
