President
Scott Thurston is the President of Street Sampling Inc., an experiential marketing agency. He began his marketing career as a consultant in 2004, and in 2006, founded Street Sampling, Inc., which has executed programs on behalf of agencies and clients that include: Chevy, Lacoste, Krispy Kreme, Dr. Pepper, Reynolds, Puma, and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Prior to striking out on his own, Scott honed his marketing skills as a Field Marketing Manager for Princeton Partners on behalf of PNC Bank. During this period of explosive growth for PNC, he led the field outreach efforts for new branches. Some of his many ideas included: street teams, event activation, grand openings, major contests, and VIP events. At its peak, this group supported 40+ new branches. Scott also played an integral role in the field marketing during the conversion of Mercantile Bank (Baltimore) and Yardville Bank (New Jersey) into the existing PNC footprint.
Scott has conceptualized, created, executed, or fixed broken programs for many of the Fortune 1000. From multi-city tours, special events, grand openings, and live product sampling... he has done it all.
Based in Washington, D.C., Scott spent 12 years in senior manager and director positions within the hospitality industry. His extensive operations experience lends itself well to the successful execution of experiential marketing programs.
Thurston's agency prides itself on exceeding clients' expectations. He is a member of the DC AdClub, Latino Economic Development Corporation and Potomac Executive Network.
Campaign Director
The campaign director is responsible for overseeing the entire campaign from start to finish. Based in-house, the campaign director oversees the execution of the entire marketing campaign.
Market Managers
Market managers are the extended arms of the campaign director, supervising city teams on the local level. The marketing managers help the campaign director plan a calendar of events specific to their own team's goals and act as leaders in the field. Specific duties of the marketing managers include:
o Recruiting/interviewing
o Calendar planning, motivating/leading team
o Training, and
o Day-of decisions regarding foot traffic.
The marketing managers are the eyes and ears in the local scene; they are the ones who bring together the entire marketing team to capitalize on promotional opportunities.
Brand Ambassadors
Brand ambassadors are the direct communication link between the brand and the consumer. They are energetic, outgoing individuals who mesh with target audience members. Brand ambassadors introduce the brand to the market in a non-threatening manner via peer-to-peer relationships and word-of-mouth advertising. Specific duties for brand ambassadors include: direct promotions through nightlife, event and street outlets, educating consumers, and creating an exciting atmosphere around the brand.
